Our short but sweet dispatch today arrives from a writer who would like only to be known by their initials, RZ. So ultra-mysterious. What I can reveal is that they flash their minivan from time to time in my driveway in order to drop off some latch hook rugs that they scored from a free pile on the side of the road.
GLUED TO THE TV by RZ
My sister and I used to race home from the bus stop. The person who got to the house first got to open the door and had a head start to the TV. This is the moment of most importance: The first person who pulled the knob of the TV got to pick the afternoon show.
This is how my mother's farm girl and boy figurines were knocked over.
They broke into a million pieces.
These figurines were hastily glued back together by my sister and placed back on the TV a week later.
I would do anything for a photo of the glue job. We were certain that my parents would not notice.Â
Do you have a latchkey mishap cover-up story? Do tell!
IF YOU HAVE FIGURINES YOU NEED TO HASTILY REPLACE BEFORE YOUR PARENTS FIND OUT, today only until midnight, you get $5 off with code GET5 in my vintage Etsy shop.
The same code can be used for the book Latchkey Township— $5 off with GET5 in the bookshop.
Thanks again…for keeping us company.
